You may want to change this timetable –depending on your needs at home. That is absolutely fine. The main aim is not be overwhelmed by it.

Lexia: is a web based reading, spelling and comprehension program. Pupils are asked to do a section of Lexia a day.  This is one whole circle on the program.  There are instructions on Google Classroom.

*Mathletics: is a web based maths programme covering the same areas of the curriculum that pupils would be learning in schools.  Five units of work will be set and checked each day.  After pupils have finished these lessons they can go onto live mathletics which is very good for mental maths.

*The hardpacks sent home from school should also be used.  They are based on the work happening at school and allow pupils to keep up the essential skills of working with a pencil and paper.

Oak Academy lessons provide recorded lessons.  Lexia and Mathletics are targeted programs and will have a positive impact on your child’s learning.  They will also help to identify areas of need which will allow teachers to set specific work to help pupils fill in any gaps in their learning. If for example parents take a day off Lexia because they would like to do some extra work on the hard packs, do an Oak Academy Lesson or sit down and read a book  -then that is also fine.  Please let us know how you are getting on, what work your child is doing and if there is anything else we can do that will help us to support your child.  Class teachers will be arranging meetings to talk with your child about how they are doing and Mr Stephen will be speaking to parents and pupils throughout the week about their remote learning and how best we can support both parents/carers and pupils.
